I have progressed from AO to EO Within DWP. My main roles have been customer service based both telephony and face to face. My current role is within the Business Support Team as Executive Assistant to Service Leader within my district. My positions have seen me supporting with the public, face to face, via the telephone and digitally, when they are at one or their most vulnerable stages in their lives - being out of work. Providing them with support to move back into employment by identifying their individual needs and skills, along with potential areas for development. I have worked closely with younger claimants on Universal Credit delivering work shops to help them identify opportunities for their futures in line with the Governments plan to help move them into “earning or learning”. I have offered a range of support, coaching and training to staff and colleagues; and have always been a “go to” person in each position I have had within the department, both current previous roles with the Child Maintenance Group (CMG). I have line management experience in both CMG and DWP, managing between a team of 8-12 staff. The job satisfaction is second to none, in comparison to my career so far. I have excelled in this role with my outstanding customer service skills and my desire to help people move forward, including staff and the public we support.
