About

Through research, education, and civic engagement, the Witness Stones Project works to restore the history and honor the humanity of the enslaved individuals who helped build our communities. As operations director, I help facilitate the project for participants of all ages. I came to this work after participating with the project at The Country School, where for 15 years I held a range of positions, from communications to alumni relations to classroom teaching. In addition to my work at Witness Stones, I continue to engage in some projects at The Country School, most of them having to do with alumni relations, DEIB efforts, and the school's participation in the Witness Stones Project. A former reporter for newspapers and the Associated Press, I also work as a freelance writer and am the author of "Michelle Obama: First Lady of Hope," published by Lyons Press in December 2008 and reissued and updated in 2018.
