Lizzie Fort (MA) (she/her)

Community dance artist, teacher educator and researcher, currently undertaking a practice-based PhD with an AHRC TECHNE Doctoral Training Partnership Studentship at Roehampton University. My research is investigating the ethics, politics and aesthetics of care in the work of community dance artists. Over the last 15 years Lizz has managed a portfolio of: teaching in universities, schools and community contexts; dance management for small arts organisations Magpie Dance and Shobana Jeyasingh Dance; performing and workshop facilitation for Amici Dance Theatre Company. Lizz has spent the last 7 years teaching in higher education, designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate modules and supervising research projects. At the RAD, she had sole responsibility for leading and managing Faculty student support and disability services. She has specialist interest in community dance, inclusive practice and dance teacher/artist professional development, bringing this expertise to Greenwich Dance and her consultancy work for the ACE funded ballet and disability research project, Dance Unstuck. She is as Trustee for two organisations, Magpie Dance and Amici Dance Theatre company.
