I spent ten years working in small family law offices. When my husband passed in 2008 and the attorney I had been working for moved to Thailand I had to reinvent myself, I decided to help people in a more positive way and went to massage school. I am so glad I did! Shortly after receiving my therapist certification, over the next two years I attended all of James Waslaski's orthopedic/sports seminars, fulfilled all of his qualifications and not only received my certification from his Center for Pain Management but became one of his teaching assistants as well. I learned muscles actions and their origins and insertions.In this way, I know how to shorten or lengthen a muscle, I learned Range of Motion testing and testing for muscle strains and sprains. I also learned about posture and gait, and how to read the body to see where muscle imbalance is causing problems. I have an advanced knowledge of the body, and I can help you with neck, shoulder, knee, and hip pain, headaches, frozen shoulder and muscles strains. I can help you feel better even if you are not experiencing pain and I can help you improve your posture. I have found Medi-cupping to be a useful addition to my manual therapy. Med-cupping is not the traditional cupping where fire is used to cause suction and the cup remains stationary, it is movable while under suction which is relaxing, is used for tight adhered areas, bringing in circulation, oxygenating and releasing the tissue from being tacked down and stuck.
