Lorena Coelho

With a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) and with a strong background in sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies and materials. My experience goes back to 2016 with a master's degree in Energy and Environment area and with work performed at CeNTI - Center for Nanotechnology and Smart Materials. This work was strongly related to Functional Materials and with the development and application of multifunctional formulations in the surface of different substrates (ex. Textiles, leather, polymeric materials, among others). The use and development of eco-friendly solutions have been a must in my work, through the valorization of waste and byproducts of different industries and the use of sustainable technologies, like ultrasonic spray coating and plasma treatments. Experience with: - Management and technical coordination of national and international R&D projects, with active participation and technical contributions; - Support to students in the dissertation thesis; - Functionalization/finishing of different substrates and performance evaluation and validation of technologies developed for different properties/functionalities; - Sustainability and circular economy through projects aimed to waste valorisation.
