Lorna Holgate

I qualified in Scotland and trained with Maclay Murray & Spens before I moved south to further opportunities open to me. I joined DLA Piper in their litigation insurance team and at the same time completed my QLTS, qualifying in England & Wales in 2003.I then joined DAC Beachcroft, where I remained for the next 12 years. Working in dispute resolution with a focus on claims. I built strong client relationships, and appeared in the Legal 500. I returned to work after my first pregnancy and was focussed on continuing to build my career with partnership aspirations. However after my 2nd child reached school age, with my vet husband also working extremely long hours, I had to pause my career. During my time out of law I chaired my village fete, completed all 3 parts of my RHS level 2, project managed a major house build, volunteered at the local school and also with the Citizens Advice Bureau. Now my youngest has started secondary school I’m able to return to my legal career, and I’m very much looking forward to it.
