Louise Allen

I have a background in mathematics and over two decades of experience in healthcare, covering both the public and private sectors. I have experience as an analyst on healthcare data, researching health interventions and wellness outcomes, as the interface between IT and business, as the operational head managing a national portfolio of medical schemes and as a key account executive. I have extensive experience in the complexities of the healthcare operational environment including the design of financial and clinical risk management frameworks. Over the last decade I have focused on gaining public health experience as I am passionate about South Africa, and Africa, and I believe the space between public and private healthcare is somewhere where I can add value and where I can do work that challenges and inspires me. During this time I have gained exposure to the international development sector and the public health policy landscape, broadened my experience in health financing and gained invaluable insight into the real on-the-ground challenges of providing public health services in resource poor settings. I hope to combine my public and private healthcare experience to support the provision of affordable, accessible and quality healthcare.
