I have won several public speaking competitions and broadcasting awards including Female Presenter of the Year at both the Community Radio Awards and the National Hospital Radio Awards and I was a speaker at the Royal Society of Medicine. I have five Gold awards in total and a further two silvers and one bronze. I worked in professional theatre and television for over ten years and since 2004 I have volunteered for a range of charitable organisations.
