Lucas Cromberg

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at UCSD, San Diego, California. Sine I begun with my University career, I have been interested in Neurosciences. I join Dr. Tomas Falzone laboratory very early during Collage, because I was very excited about his research. Under his guidance, I have learnt a lot about cell biology and molecular biology in the field of Neurodegenerative Disorders. The main part of my project was the analysis of mice behavior and study the effects of drugs in transgenic mice. As a second part of my work, I have specialized in Fluorescent microscopy and live imaging. Once I obtained my PhD degree, I was interested in the molecular biology of neurodegenerative disorders. With that objective in mind, I talked to Dr. Desplats to join her laboratory at UCSD. The project which I am currently working on, is the role of miRNA in the development and generation of Multiple System Atrophy, a fatal disease with unknown etiology. Working in science has allowed me not only to learn about the exciting field of neurobiology, but has also helped me to increase the knowledge about important diseases and share my experience with students that will become future scientist.
