Lucas Morales

I am interested in growth, gaining more knowledge, and developing other skill sets. The movement from two high demanding departments has made me a more efficient team member. I became an accomplished Baker and learned all bakery operation within 6 months, due to merging of departments. As a baker, I am responsible for all product ingredients needed for at least one week of production. This includes flour, muffins, cookies, scone mix, mixed seeds, salt, sugar, pan spray, chocolate chips, berries, wheat gluten, canola oil, etc. Bakers are also responsible for communicating with pastry team members on what to order for their area of the Bakery operation. My experience in the Prepared Foods Department has helped me to be a fast thinker and move quickly on my feet, to “fill the holes”, when out of product. Moving between stations, transferring product in the store to meet high demand was my greatest skill. At the end of the night, I would communicate to the buyer, and receive loads of product from DC, check all product received or returned, write production lists for morning team members and insure all stations where stocked. While a Supervisor in Prepared Foods, I represented the company traveling to Edina, Minnesota to open a new location. I trained new employees about company policies, procedures, and operations. I worked with others from the Midwest Region to develop spoilage and production lists. Most importantly, I trained new team members about importance of logs and spoilage. This is an important tool for buyers and leadership to control spoilage, and for team members to see how much product they well need for the day. I believe the combined experience I have gained as a Supervisor and Baker while at Whole Foods, will allow me to transfer my combined knowledge and skills to any position in the work force.
