Lead and/or support advanced product development projects by researching and conducting due diligence (i.e. Technological risk, robustness & manufacturing capability, etc) on emerging technologies. Lead all procurement-related responsibilities for New Product Development projects, i.e., early supplier involvement, strategic sourcing, material cost and capital management, timely part procurement, contract negotiations, and obsolescence mitigation; and facilitate involvement of all other Supply Chain responsibilities, i.e., inventory set-up/ management, production planning, and master scheduling. Monitor, document, and communicate supplier performance in the areas of quality, delivery, and responsiveness to supplier corrective actions and sample submission requests. Coordinate and facilitate early supplier involvement projects to ensure adherence to industrial design intent, engineering specifications, and schedules, especially in support of new product development redesigns and product changes. Formulate sourcing strategies to support short-term and long-term operational requirements. Select and certify suppliers based on quality, total cost, lead time, service, technical support, and financial stability. Lead and/or support supplier quality improvement initiatives and supplier quality assessments/audits. Develop material and component cost models with commodity responsibilities to accurately predict future cost for the organization. Special projects as assigned.
