I received my B.S and M.S degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Malaga, Spain, in 1997 and 1999 respectively. Then, I join at a very early stage an start-up called DS2, where I helped to develop practically from the beginning the Power Line Communications (PLC) technology. That implies system architecture, Patents, Standards representative at IEEE P1901, Verilog coding, Matlab and C simulation and anything needed at any time of day or night. My role was managing multidisciplinary teams with expertise on system architecture (OFDM, FEC, filtering, FFT, C and Matlab simulation), Verilog implementation and verification, and FPGA prototyping. As a result, three generations of PLC chipsets were delivered and set into mass production. (DSS95003U, DSS95001U, DSS8101 among others). DS2 was acquired by Marvell Semiconductors, and I continue working as a Staff System Architect developing and implementing ITU G.hn standard, again from concept and standard contribution to chipset mass production (88LX3142). I was involved developing MIMO 3x2 whitening over OFDM techniques, AGC, Filtering, Analog blocks specification and modelling, etc. I was also in charge of the PHY team with incredible engineers from digital to software and test covering all the stages of the design, and then I work very close to the Analog Development team, creating specs and defining the next generation wireline technologies (Phoneline, Coaxial, Power Lines, POF). Currently I am working on my PhD that will be focused on Compressed Sensing and new sampling methods beyond Nyquist applied to Communication Systems. Beside that, I'm now leading the incredible KDPOF team towards the next 10 Gbps class Optical Communication systems for Automobiles and Home Netwoking.
