Lydia Bailey Cardenas

With over seven years of experience working in customer service and support, I have grown a deep passion for working with others. Through my experience, I discovered there is a great deal of power in taking the time to listen to individuals' stories. This realization, coupled with my passion for psychology and social justice, led me to pursue a graduate degree in social work. I am a part of the University of Utah masters of social work cohort of 2023. I currently am in an internship with Touchstone Therapy Center in Layton, Utah, where I provide therapy services to children, teens, and families involved with the foster care system. I have a deep passion for working with folks experiencing various life challenges such as childhood trauma, depression, and anxiety. There is no greater privilege than having the opportunity to assist individuals through their journey of healing and acceptance. Previously, I worked as an Elementary Caretaker at Little Wonders Day Care, where I managed large groups of children while managing time and schedules. I also have two years of retail experience where I managed a team of sales associates through daily check-ins and task organization.
