Lyn Disley

Lyn is a Director and Co-founder of MagStar Ltd. After many years working as a manager, director and consultant in both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors, she saw the opportunity for a capable and ethical communications agency to succeed and so established MagStar.In 2001 she set up MagStar Ltd, now a successful marketing communications agency. Lynoversees all MagStar projects and directly project manages many. Providing strategic, tactical and management support, Lyn works with a wide range of commercial and not for profit clients on creative, communications and organisational development issues.Born and raised in London, she attended Bromley High School before graduating from Bedford College, London University with an honours degree in English Literature. She worked in London for creative and music companies before becoming a senior manager for Cambridgeshire County Council, then Operations Manager for an international charity working with disaffected young people and as a consultant for the SSI. She then co-founded Eplace.co.uk a successful early internet portal and worked as consultant for Green Cathedral.Outside of work Lyn is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and was for many years a pioneering member/ Chair of the board of trustees for the Junction CDC, a charity providing varied contemporary arts and leisure activities, particularly focussed at new and emerging arts and youth interaction. At the Junction she co-ordinated a successful bid for over £5m Lottery funds and the subsequent capital build project.She also established a contemporary art gallery in Cambridge and continues to support up and coming artists.
