MacKenzie Wasson

Trained as an architect I am a project manager, designer and prototyper whose work operates at the intersection of design, build and business. Previously, I was a Project Manager at Dvele, a growing modular construction company, where I led design, procurement, production and site construction teams to deliver projects ranging in scale from 50+ unit tiny home communities to 3,700 sqft single family homes. In a prior role at DSK Architects + Planners I worked to create construction documentation sets and manage construction administration for luxury villas in the British Virgin Islands. This experience, combined with my personal experience living and working at resorts in the BVI, aided my award winning masters thesis, "Building Biras: A Hurricane Adaptive Caribbean Resort." My unique skillset ranges from the macro to the micro, from architectural concept to project closeout. I have mastery in architectural design and detailing, prototyping, 3D printing, composites, permitting, estimation, budgeting, BIM to BOM processes, technology implementations, production improvement processes and negotiation. I've curated a career pathway out of the traditional role of the architect to one where I'm comfortable managing uncomfortably ambitious ideas.
