She was team leader on a transcontinental (Africa, Europe and Asia) GIZ elearning project (Atingi). She works with Agora Food Studio in East Timor (USAID) (coaching for young entrepreneurs in Dili), with GIZ Palestine strengthening tourism associations - (eLearning/COVID-19 management and entrepreneurship training for tourism practitioners), with GIZ Kyrgyzstan developing workshops on Design Thinking, with GOPA/GIZIndonesia (leadership in a time of crisis coaching), with USAID Sri Lanka (developing a new accommodation classification system), with AFD Cambodia (feasibility study on the construction of two TVET schools - building design, curriculum development, governance structure, PPP and business model). She is also working with GIZ Senegal developing a new tourism incubator and with GIZ Uzbekistan helping to implement elements of dual cooperative training in three colleges and developing mobile microlearning modules for hotel/guesthouse owners. In 2018 she was the Team Leader on a UNWTO Marketing Strategy project in Hainan, China. She worked with GIZ’s Regional East African Community Integration project, Tanzania and with GIZ Tunisia to develop/market new tourism sites. She also worked with GIZ ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta. In 2016, Maeve worked in Timor-Leste with government, donors, private sector and civil society to co-produce the first National Tourism Policy. She is a public speaker - at the UNWTO Executive Training Program on Tourism Policy and Strategy in Korea, at an ASEAN Competency Based forum in Manila, and at ITB-Berlin. From 2010 to 2016 Maeve was key in the creation of the Lao National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (LANITH) Vientiane, Lao PDR. The LANITH curriculum was accredited by the Ministry of Education and Sports. The UNWTO TedQual initial Certification was achieved, making LANITH one of the few hotel schools in SE Asia to have such an accolade. In 2014, LANITH won the WTTC Tourism for Tomorrow People Award for human capital development in the education sector. In 2012, LANITH won the PATA Grand Award for its industry-training program, Passport to Success. The President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins paid an official visit to LANITH in 2017 in recognition of its achievements.
