To be great, architecture has to incorporate a perfect blend of science and art. Science makes a structure practical, and economical, and informs the flow of the purpose for which it is designed. Art speaks to the inspirational and aspirational nature of the structure, drawing people to it, telling its own story as part of the skyline, or the environment, in which it sits. I began by gaining my degree as an Urban Planner and, subsequently, my career has grown to include interior designing, architectural consultancy, and project and people management. Clients give me their ideas and their requirements, and I work hard to provide the most effective solutions that match the latest design trends. My diverse portfolio includes villas and residential towers, through to factories and commercial properties. I have an extensive experience in hospitality buildings such as restaurants, bars, and hotels, and so am familiar with all the challenges specific to the hospitality and retail sectors. My role expands beyond the engineering requirements of the job into full project management. I have a passion for the diversity and fast-paced nature of this type of work that requires me to liaise with multiple contractors, organise construction works, keep my team on track, and feed information back to clients to keep them apprised of progress. I am ambitious, I work hard for my clients, and I thrive on the dynamic and demanding nature of this world. Design-itude has offices in both London and Cairo and I am the key point of contact between the two. We are looking to continue to expand our client base through Europe and the Middle East - and beyond. Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and supporting my daughter in her various sporting activities. I like being social with my friends. I satisfy my creative nature and love of playing with colour and detail by creating artwork. When I have the chance, I love to read - economics, psychology - anything but politics! - and my favourite place to indulge in this particular activity is at the beach!
