About
After ending a 26-year career at Hewlett Packard in October 2005, I have been involved in Residential Solar Photovoltaic (PV) installations, either as a volunteer, DYI installer, and as a hired PV consultant and installer. After completing courses and training workshops in solar (SEI, PG&E, San Jose City College, De Anza College). In 2010 I completed a 2-year AA degree in Energy Management and Climate Policy, and another in Environmental Compliance and Pollution Prevention. In the past few years, I have continued to volunteer with GRID Alternatives as a team leader and volunteer trainer. I have also been working part-time as a consultant and installer with Heliofarm, a residential installer in Sunnyvale and with Doble and Son Custom Homes, helping Bill Huffman with solar installation projects. In 2011 and 2012 I also taught a PV field studies hands-on solar course at De Anza Community College. I am also interested in Solar Thermal, off-grid living and greater adoption of Battery Electric Vehicles. I've been driving a zero emissions Nissan LEAF since 2011. Since teaching at De Anza, I have been working part-time as an installer with various local solar installers. Most recently with Heliofarm, SunWork and Huffman Solar. Currently, I am working part time as a Solar Consultant at SunWork. I'm also part of the installation crew at Affordable Home Solar. In my spare time I volunteer with SunWork.
