When I was in school, I was curious about how products were moved from and to different locations in order to fulfill customer’s needs. As soon as I graduated as an Industrial Engineer, I decided to take the step and learn more about logistics and transportation. In 2015, I started working in Canada as a Logistics Coordinator for a Meat trading company. This opportunity introduced me to the amazing world of logistics and transportation, since I was able to negotiate rates and arrange shipments via truck and ocean. This experience led me to my next jobs in which I was able to strengthen my transportation knowledge by coordinating frozen commodities and heavy equipment shipments via ocean, land and rail. What I like the most about this field, is that I have the opportunity to establish business relationships with individuals in the different supply chain echelons. I also enjoy working as part of a team and providing solutions to issues that might arise. In order to broaden my knowledge in the field, I decided to take the next step in my career studying Supply Chain Management at Humber College. This program has given me a better understanding of inventory management, product level forecasts, procurement and lean manufacturing tools, which I look forward to develop and use in order to help a company achieve success.
