Stories can change the world. Stories can create worlds and wonders, open doors and close deals. Stories have the power to forge communities, convert the most unlikely client, and to shatter chains of oppression. When we celebrate the stories of the marginalized, they are no longer on the margins. When we leverage storytelling and brand-depth as a marketing approach, we not only reach our audience with a compelling offer, but also delivered in a way they want to listen to. I am a storyteller and strategist for Good. I am convinced that good branding, marketing, and fund-development are, at the very core, all the art of good storytelling backed by great data analytics. While narrative structure and brand story can sell just about anything from soap to soup, I believe the art of storycraft and compelling brand identity development is best used when it can be leveraged to make this world a better place. I have spent the last 10 years in the third-sector/non-profit space and have seen firsthand the power of narrative as applied to grants and funding proposals or as leveraged in policy campaigns and public health initiatives. In that time, I’ve also been able to work alongside innovative social ventures and have seen how essential socially-minded for-profit entities are for to forging a more justice and sustainable future. These entrepreneurs and businesses, innovators who disrupt the marketplace with both sellable solutions and compassionate motivation, benefit from every aspect of brand story and marketing because they have a story worth telling, in a market audience that longs to hear creative, fresh, and clear narratives that stop their scroll and cut through the noise. I am a seasoned and dynamic writer, designer, and marketing strategist with a hands-on leadership and coaching style that works on behalf of my clients to be their brand champion (and sometimes their brand therapist).
