Mark Davis

Mark Davis, P.h.D. is vice president in the Platform Engineering Group and chief technology officer of CDMA Products and Development (CPD). In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all engineering activities for the CPD Group. Prior to joining Intel, Dr. Davis was a founder of VIA Telecom, where he served as vice president and chief technical officer, responsible for all aspects of the company’s research and development as well as its overall technology roadmap. A 30-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Dr. Davis founded the predecessor of VIA Telecom, known as LSI Logic’s Wireless Design Center, where he led the development of GSM and CDMA baseband processors. Before that, Dr, Davis was at Linkabit, which was acquired by Hughes Network Systems, where his work focused on embedded software for satellite communications and VSAT terminals. Mark Davis earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
