Mark McDonnell

I have two decade of experience in working with data. I specialise now in applied machine learning: - I work with domain-experts and utilize MLOps practices to create AI-tools that work in the real world - I conduct research aimed at devising better algorithms - I educate and mentor in machine learning I have delivered applied machine learning consultancies, research projects and products for the sports, health, space, precision agriculture, mining and manufacturing sectors. Before moving to the private sector, I was Associate Professor in Computer Science, and before that ARC Australian Research Fellow (2010-2014). My research activities focused on making machine learning algorithms more efficient, through better learning rules, customized hardware, and understanding how brains learn. I published over 100 research or review papers, and a granted patent.
