I am a Qualified Chartered Certified Accountant with experience both in practice and within industry (specifically the housing sector). I have a keen work ethic and I strive to undertake new and challenging tasks, as well as to learn from those around me. My recent roles have seen me gain a great deal of experience in the preparation of Statutory accounts, group reporting, business planning and cash flow design. Within the Development Finance department of L&Q, my team and I are responsible for the technical accounting within the group’s development practices, ensuring that business decisions consider their effect on the annual statutory accounts and tax legislation and not just on long term cash requirements. As part of this, the team has been responsible for; • Consolidating L&Q’s joint ventures into the group (including adjusting for group transactions) as well as the newly acquired group of land promotion companies, L&Q Estates. • Preparing a full 30-year business plan for these joint ventures • Managing the tax miss-match on our JVs, particularly around gift aid payments • Designed and implemented new scheme cash flows and appraisals with one of our JV partners to improve business reporting and scenario planning • Detailed forecasts & budget preparation for Development Finance • Handling year end audit queries across all group companies • Calculating for possible impairment, as well as considering the impact of changes to the development pipeline. All this is done to ensure the long-term security of L&Q’s assets, for the company to achieve its vision of building & facilitating 100,000 homes over the next 10 years while maintain its commitments to its current residents and stakeholders. As a wider team, we pride ourselves on our ability to problem solve and work collaboratively to achieve our common goal. To assist with this, I have developed my excel skills to include Macros, VBA, SQL code, Power Query/Pivots & Pivot Tables.
