Martin Schmelzer

Modelling and Prediction - My academic education and career is shaped by my fascination for the prediction of real-world problems using mathematical modelling. Already during my BSc/MSc studies I got interested in time series analysis and stochastic modelling of complex dynamical systems, which I further deepened and extended by machine learning, uncertainty quantification and Bayesian methods during my PhD. With my passion for prediction I want to make a difference and apply and develop methods of machine learning to tackle pressing challenges in industry. One of my interests is on fusing smart sensor information (IoT) with innovative machine learning concepts for reliable condition monitoring and predictive maintenance for the industrial world.
