Received the B.E.(1988) and M.E.(1990) degrees in electronic engineering from Ehime University, Matsuyama, Japan.Received the Dr. Eng. degree(1995) from Osaka Prefecture University, Sakai, Japan. In April 1990, he joined the Department of Electronic Engineering, Ehime University as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, where he had been engaged in research and development of optical devices for optical communication. From April 1997 to February 1998, he was a visiting scholar at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, USA on leave from Ehime Univ.. Since April 1999, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Yamaguchi University, Ube, Yamaguchi, Japan, where he is currently an Associate Professor of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering. Current affiliation name has been changed to Graduate School of Science & Technology for Innovation since April 2016. His research interests are focused on the microwave applications of metamaterials, development of novel wireless power transfer system and design of guided-wave type optical devices.
