-background: architecture, environmental management and planning Matthew Nahrstedt, from St. Louis, Missouri, graduated with a Bachelor’s in Architectural Studies and Minor in Environmental Studies at the University of Kansas in 2011. During his undergraduate studies he was heavily involved in a pond-restoration project which raised $125,000 from various donors. From 2011 to 2014, he was working in Peru for the Peace Corps as an Environmental Educator. His work in the Peace Corps focused on Community-Based Environmental Management, the highlights of which were installing a solar panel for a cluster of homes, building mud-brick stoves and beginning a 5,500 pine tree plantation with a drip-irrigation system. Matt funded the solar panel and tree plantation projects by writing three grants. In May 2016 Matt received a Master's in Environmental Planning and Design at the University of Georgia. He strives to utilize his knowledge and passion for community-based architecture, design, and planning throughout his career.
