My career goals and ambitions are guided by a desire to influence a positive and sustainable change in people’s lives and organizations I work for. My strongest attributes are a genuine concern for people, a passion to learn and impart learned knowledge, ability to adapt to change and creativity. I bring diverse perspectives and expertise from complementary professional skills and educational achievements in Nursing (Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree), Epidemiology (Graduate Degree), Respiratory Care (Associate Degree), Business Administration (Graduate Degree), and a professional certification in healthcare quality (CPHQ). My doctoral studies included infectious and acute disease epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, social epidemiology, environmental epidemiology, molecular and genetic epidemiology, research methods and designs, data analysis, project management, and field epidemiology. I have a proclivity for learning and offer over thirteen years inpatient care in a community hospital to patients with diverse health problems. I am also an online Managerial Epidemiology instructor for graduate students in healthcare administration (MHA). Areas mastered include Patient Safety & Clinical Risk Management, Regulatory & Accreditation Affairs, Quality Improvement, Clinical Data Registry Management, and Infection Prevention. I believe in today’s healthcare environment where management of chronic diseases is of paramount importance, education plays a vital role in curbing escalating costs, reducing risks, and maximizing evidence-based values for both providers and patients. I am a great team player with extensive experience in collaboration across different healthcare professions.
