Meg Carroll

I’m a recent graduate from the University of Richmond with a Global Studies major, Politics and Governance concentration, and French minor. Global research and hands-on collaborative projects defined my collegiate experience. I am passionate about projects that examine the intersection of cultures, politics, and visual communications. In Nairobi, Kenya (summer 2018), I worked on a research team from my university that partnered with the National Land Commission of Kenya where we inventoried and cataloged data from 1,300+ Kenyan property maps in Google Sheets. I ensured accuracy and clarity by organizing the mass amounts of data. On ArcGIS Desktop, we digitized and georeferenced the maps. During this research, I discovered my passion for developing efficient solutions with teammates to solve technical obstacles. As the Head of Marketing and Communications for Digital America, I managed the entirety of the art journal’s communications via MailChimp campaigns to subscribers, initial submission reviews, and connections with artists. As a team, we collaborated to curate, produce, and design the most recent issue of the journal on Digital America’s WordPress website. Through my academic pursuits, hands-on experiences, and personal life, my aim is to always pursue opportunities that allow me to collaborate with teammates, think analytically, and communicate empathetically.
