Mel Woosnam

I am an experienced, qualified and motivated professional who has worked in the sports industry at Executive level for over 20 years with organisations including Hockey NSW, Qld Touch Football, NSW Futsal and more recently as CEO of Water Polo Qld. For almost 15 years I was Managing Director of my own sports consultancy – Active8 Sports Solutions and have reverted back to this role since November 2022. In this role I consult to National, State, Regional and local Sporting Organisations, Federal, State and Local governments, peak industry bodies, tertiary institutions and professional sporting organisations. In addition, I have extensive governance experience having been President of Hockey Australia for the past 4 years and a Director on the Board for the past 7 years, including being a member of the Participation, Nominations, People and Culture and High-Performance Committees. I have also been a Director on the Board of QSport for 3 years and also a Director of Stadiums Qld for 5 years where I sat on the Marketing and the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committees.
