Melissa Balderas

BiographyMelissa has been in the field of Credit and Collection for the last 20+ years. Her expertise has been managing the broadcast credit and collection department, building client relations, and partnering with department heads and sales teams to ensure client satisfaction. She has also been a member of BCCA and the NACM for the last 16 years. She served as chairman of the NACM Chicago group in 2001 and 2003.Melissa started her credit and collection career in August of 2000 with Weigel Broadcasting, in Chicago. In 2009, she left Weigel Broadcasting to start a new chapter as the Credit and Collection Manager for “Chicago’s Very Own” WGN-TV. Since then, she has also acquired WGN Radio, WGN ANTTV Local, CLTV Antenna TV, THIS TV and WITI FOX 6 in Milwaukee as part of her responsibilities. In 2019 Melissa took on role as AR Manager, for the North American Region at Meriaux Nutriscience. Here she has expanded her knowledge and experience. She manages a team of 17 AR Specialists and is responsible for managing the day to day billing, cash collections and cash application. She had successfully assisted in successful conversion to a new ERP system. She now has the knowledge of both Oracle, JDE, as well as experience with several billing portals such as Ariba, Tungsten and Taulia. In January 2020 Melissa left the food safety business to return to her roots in broadcasting Credit and Collection. She is now the Credit and Collection Manager at CBS Viacom Television in Chicago. She has manages all OTC B2B. Her DSO Averages around 62 days even with the hard hit of the pandemic. ,
