We live in a society where there is a melting pot of cultures, personalities, and talents. There are leaders, followers, educators, and caregivers. Growing up, I've always been the friend who ran to help the person that fell when playing tag, the sister who kissed a scar goodbye, the family member who sat tirelessly by the bedside of a sick family member. As a child, I knew that taking care of others was my calling, but the thought of being a nurse never crossed my mind. Finally, I decided to apply for a nursing program and I got accepted into the 18 month Nursing (RN) program at Sanford Brown Institute, NY. My experience at various clinical rotations has helped me to develop my nursing skills. I am a devoted worker who, for the past year, has spent my free time taking care of the patients at the hospital. I believe I have the qualities to be an excellent nurse. These qualities include my passion for my job, the ability to care and be compassionate to others, patience, honesty, and above all, a strong desire and willingness to help those in need. Unfortunately, passion is not all that is required to get a high-quality job. I completed my Bachelor's Degree at Briarcliffe College with high honors while working as an RN at St. Mary's Hospital for Kids. Surely, I would like to go even further in the future by striving for a Master's Degree. I have enjoyed my experience at St. Mary's Hospital and have been able to educate myself more in the field of nursing by getting hands on experience with the patients here and increasing my knowledge about the nursing skills required to be successful in the field.
