Michael E. Nolan

Michael E. Nolan is a financial engineer with more than 40 years of experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Nolan is the President and CEO of Nolan Financial, which specializes in the custom design, enrollment, funding and recordkeeping of nonqualified retirement plans including Bank Owned Life Insurance. He founded Nolan Financial in 1989 with a vision as the record keeper to provide open architecture plan design and funding with regards to an organization’s nonqualified retirement plans. Mr. Nolan saw that many organizations’ needs were not being met by pre-packaged prototype plans, which was the norm at the time of the company’s founding. Under Mr. Nolan’s direction, Nolan Financial has grown from a humble start-up company to a leader in the nonqualified retirement plan industry. Since Nolan Financial’s inception, Mr. Nolan has designed more than 300 highly complex nonqualified plans with in excess of 30,000 participants for a vast array of industries including healthcare, insurance, legal, utilities, banking, consulting, retailing, and manufacturing. He has presented cutting-edge ideas in speaking engagements throughout the United States and has written numerous articles for financial publications based upon his experience and knowledge of the financial services industry. Mr. Nolan is a past Chairman of the Retirement committee for AALU and member of the prestigious Legislative Circle. Mr. Nolan received his Bachelor of Science in 1979 from the University of Maryland. He currently resides in Bethesda, Maryland with his lovely wife Joanne of 41 years and they are the proud parents of two young adults Christine and Michael Patrick.
