Michael Katancik, PE

Hi everyone, my name is Michael Katancik and I am a mechanical engineer with experience in a broad range of industries including consumer products, automotive OEM supply, and defense/aerospace. I graduated summa cum laude from the Oregon State University Honors College where I conducted research in additive manufacturing, gained experience as a research assistant, and actively participated in club racing for Baja SAE. Since graduating I have worked in a research and development role where I have been on the forefront of developing new products and technologies for defense and military customers. I have a passion for learning and expanding my knowledge wherever a project may lead me. I enjoy using new tools and acquiring fresh skills to make my work more efficient and productive. My principal interests are in initial product development; however, I have the experience to succeed anywhere in the product development phase through commercialization. My career aspirations include growing my technical skills and industry knowledge before exploring opportunities in engineering leadership positions. I find collaboration with other engineers to accomplish difficult tasks to be a rewarding and fulfilling experience that I hope to expand on and foster within my teams in future management roles.
