Michaela Seibel

I hold a MA (2011) in Japanese Studies from the University of Leiden, Netherlands and a BA (2009) in Japanese History and Comparative Religion from the University of Bochum, Germany. During my studies at the University of Leiden, I spent one year as an exchange student at Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan, in order to improve my Japanese language skills and conduct research for my MA thesis. During my stay in Japan, I acquired the N1 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT); I previously acquired a 8.5 band result on the Academic Version of the IELTS. After my graduation from the University of Leiden I took a gap year, and then started working as Office Manager at Takamaz Machinery Europe GmbH, Overath, Germany, where I remained for five years. In 2018, I took up a logistics position at Kowa Europe Gmbh, Duesseldorf, Germany. From 2020 to 2022, I was employed at Pharma Waldhof GmbH/Actylis Duesseldorf. As of 2022, I work as an Accouting Manager at Inaba Foods (Europe) GmbH. I reside in Duesseldorf, Germany. I am fluent in German, English and Japanese and have some command over Dutch and French; I'm additionally currently in the process of acquiring basic skills in Spanish and Ukrainian via e-learning. My private interests involve reading, cinema, trivia knowledge and traveling.
