I began my career working with disadvantaged youth in 1989 as an entry level Youth Activity Supervisor I in Brownwood Texas. I was fortunate to work with great juvenile professionals early during my career that allowed me to move to various levels of responsibilities with the Texas Youth Commission. I was an Assistant Superintendent at the Sheffield Boot Camp, Superintendent at Sheffield, San Saba, West Texas, Crockett, Mart, and a Regional Director over 6 facilities and 4 Halfway Houses. A change in career goals in 2011 brought me to the Texas Department of Aging and Disabilities as a Director III over the states only forensic program in Mexia Texas. I was fortunate to retire from the Department of Aging and Disabilities, Mexia State Supported Living Center April 30, 2016 . On January 01, 2017 I was selected as the Chief Executive Officer for the Nueces Center for Mental Health & Intellectual Disabilities (MHID), the local mental health authority (LMHA) and the local intellectual developmental disabilities authority ( LIDDA).
