Murray Cantor

With over 40 years' experience in systems architecture and project management and my PhD in mathematics, I help companies use machine learning and causal models in their business. In particular I am a founding partner and chief scientist of Aptage. At Aptage, I get to use my robust real-world experience in managing large-scale, complex systems to build modern tools to instrument the management of value-laden innovative projects. Previosly I have been a lead Engineer for Rational Services, There I led the development of Rational Unified Process (RUP) extensions for Systems Engineering. Prior to Rational, I was a project lead at TASC, a Defense and Intelligence contractor; there, I applied object technology and the early versions of the Unified Process to the successful delivery of Highly Complex Systems (USAF Space Command). Earlier, at Risc System 6000, I held several roles: Graphics Systems Architect, 3D Graphics Dev Lead and Dev Manager, Graphics Subsystems Architecture Manager, and Multimedia Program Manager. Author of many articles (like my recent Agile paper, below) and two books - "Object-Oriented Project Management with UML" (John Wiley,1998) and "Software Leadership" (Addison-Wesley, 2001) - I enjoy helping Teams succeed.
