About

I’m Nadine Maarhuis, a freelance journalist, writer, videographer and public speaker from the Netherlands. It's my mission to increase the visibility of ecological heroes, regenerative farmers, innovative economic thinkers, social entrepreneurs and many others who make the world a regenerative and more just place. At the moment, I'm a journalist, videographer and the editor-in-chief at MaatschapWij: a Dutch inspiration platform to make the Netherlands a more social, sustainable and healthy place. You can find my (Dutch) articles and videos here: https://maatschapwij.nu/auteur/nadine/ Together with Elisah Pals, I've launched the 'Buy nothing new challenge'. Because consuming less is one of the best things we can do for the health of the planet and our own mental wellbeing. So please join us (and over 4.000 people so far!) in our quest to not buy anything new for a whole year and consume second hand as little as possible: https://www.facebook.com/groups/431388168565221 & https://www.linkedin.com/groups/14115685/ In addition, I'm working on a series of stories featuring regenerative pioneers for We are the regeneration (Dutch): https://re-generation.cc/pioniers/ Check out the (Dutch) book 'Pioniers van de nieuwe welvaart' that I wrote together with Kees Klomp: https://www.youbedo.com/boeken/pioniers-van-de-nieuwe-welvaart-9789047011651 And the book ‘Circular Chefs’ (both in Dutch and English) that I wrote together with Freke van Nimwegen: https://www.youbedo.com/boeken/circular-chefs-9789082954302 Over the course of 2019, I travelled around Europe, capturing the stories of the most uplifting change makers on video. You can find their stories here: https://www.behindthechange.org/stories/ Amongst others, my videos, articles and books (both Dutch and English) have been published by MaatschapWij, BrightVibes, Follow the Money and publishing house Business Contact. In addition, as a copywriter, editor, translator and videographer I've worked together with organisations like Commonland, VluchtelingenWerk Nederland and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
