Nashali Miranda- Cardona

I am a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in Psychology, Spanish, and a minor in Gender and Women Studies. I have previous childcare experience through years of volunteer work at Darwin Elementary School which sparked my interest in child development. I then went on to work as a teaching assistant in a preschool setting where I gained more knowledge about the ways children develop at different age stages. I currently work assisting the elderly as a home health aide working part-time. Through this job I have gained more insight into the ways the elderly must be cared and treated for both medical and mental conditions. The job has also helped me understand the human mind at a greater level than just child development and how important it is to exercise the brain just as much as the body at every age level. I aspire to become a clinical psychologist and eventually open my own practice through my passion of working for and with others, specially with children who have child development specific conditions and special needs. I am interested in potential full time internships and jobs in pediatric centers and clinics.
