Natalia Herrero Garcia

(Béjar, Salamanca, 1989) is degreed in Environmental Science (Universidad de Salamanca, 2012) and MSc in Environmental Engineering, (Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, 2015). During her MSc she did an internship in the Environmental Engineering and Bioprocesses research group (Biogroup) where she collaborated in the monitoring of a UASB pilot plant treating industrial waste water. Also, during her MSc studies, she did an internship supported with an Erasmus grant in the laboratory of environmental Chemical Engineering and Bioprocesses (LabICAB, University of Verona, Italy.), where she developed the experimental part of the master thesis in the monitoring of a sludge fermentation reactor at laboratory scale. She is currently a research fellow in Biotechnology department of University of Verona and her research tries to obtain valuable resources through the treatment of bio-waste. As a result of her research, she has contributed with 1 oral presentation in 4th International congress on Sustainable Solid Waste Management. (Limassol, Cyprus, 2016) and she presented 1 poster in 9th International conference on environmental engineering and management ( Bologna, Italy 2017). Current research topics are: • Volatile fatty acids production from municipal solid biowaste. H2020-RES URBIS project (id 730349). • Energy recovery from agricultural and food processing waste.
