About
Groundwork Northamptonshire is an amazing organisation, building partnerships and collaborations to deliver quality community led action. Our communities need encouragement, support and opportunities to embrace climate action, prioritise well-being, explore heritage and culture and build strong communities where kindness and inclusion are at the front. We champion young people and work hard to support them to find their voice and make good choices. In 2022 we are running our Seeds of Hope campaign - a calendar of events, celebrations, fundraising and community activities designed to help people and communities flourish, become much stronger and more fulfilled. We are here to make a positive difference to lives – to inspire individuals to strive for more and to empower communities to come together. Some of the projects I am involved with at Groundwork include: NATURAL NEIGHBOURHOODS THE GREEN PATCH TWYWELL HILLS AND DALES My background is a mixture of Landscaping and designing, farming and crop production. I have been a member of the British Bryological Society since 2015. I am particularly proud of my research into mosses on green roof infrastructure and hope to take this work further in the future. Humanity desperately needs green solutions and my research clearly demonstrated a huge potential for using mosses for lightweight retrofitting on pitched roofs. Meanwhile I relish the opportunities within Groundwork Northamptonshire to train and educate others in green skills and environmental solutions. Exciting projects at The Green Patch and beyond showcase the potential for active nature based solutions even at the small scale, empowering individuals and communities to do the same.
