Nathanael Daum

I am a Mechanical Engineering Graduate from San Diego State University currently working in Biotech for Bionano Genomics, Inc. As a Manufacturing Engineer. My responsibilities and skill-set includes stack-up and tolerance analysis, GD&T application, troubleshooting mechanical, optical, and software issues, contract manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma methodology, configuration management, external customer interface, and applying principles of mechanical design and optics, as well as a grasp of genomic processes, to solve real-time problems. I have considerable knowledge of design and manufacturing principles due to my background in the Oil and Gas and Power Generation Industry, having been a part of an 18 month rotational program at Solar Turbines. This program sent me to many of Solars businesses units including Design Engineering, component level manufacturing, Field Service, Engine Overhaul, Instrumentation and Engine Test. After this program, I worked in the Engine Assembly group, managing and overseeing the configuration and build of industrial gas turbine engines. As I invest in my career I hope to gain a wide array of professional experience, eventually using the acquired knowledge and skills to implement energy and clean water solutions for communities in need both in the Americas and globally.
