When I first joined the design and development department of APEX, I maintained 3 individual category. Ladies, children & sporty shoe and sandal. I make more than 80 design (samples) of each section within three months. I make not only samples but also always help to make grading and also production support. I make more than 10+ bestselling of each category. Footwear designing is not only a matter of small issue. To make a design, first we an image or sample (it will be own idea or copy). Then need proper outsole of proper last. Use masking tape for masking the last. On the last, marking tangent point, middle line, back height, vamp point. After that, sketch the design on the last. Flattening the masking tape on the pattern paper. Make upper standard. Cutting all sectional [pattern and giving all mark. Then cutting all pattern of upper and lining and component. The pattern is ready. In the training, first I want to make introduce all type of materials and tools, which is need to be design and development. Then collect all materials and tools from the local market. Designing lesson will be theoretically and practically done part by part. Various type of shoe or sandal designing way are different. Oxford shoe, derby shoe, moccasin shoe, boot, sandal pattern making will be done in different class. At last, we will make samples of different type of shoe and sandals with this pattern.
