Neil MacPhail

Neil is the Transport Architecture Lead for Mott MacDonald in the Middle East. He has over 30 years of architectural and project management experience, with the last ten years spent working on major projects in the Middle East. He has led architectural teams on prestigious Rail and Transportation Projects including Dubai Metro, Doha Metro and the Lusail Light Rail Network in Doha. He has an in-depth understanding of station planning, fire and life safety issues, MEP and structural coordination requirements, sustainable design, material selection and assessment, as well as particular experience integrating new structures into the existing urban fabric and the associated context planning. Neil’s experience spans from bid management and preparation, through concept design to completion, and has been responsible for the detailed design of both underground and above ground stations in Metro and Light Rail networks. Neil has experience in all stages of the design process, value engineering, programming, specifications, construction detailing, site support, and interfacing with outside agencies and government departments.
