Nicholas Bulat

I have over 20 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer working with Communications Systems and leading Multi-Disciplinary teams of engineers to solve complex problems. I am currently the Technical Integrator for the Infrastructure and Networking Innovation Center at MITRE, working to optimize the impact of the division in addressing large scale national problems. My previous role was as the chief engineer on a project developing a multi-billion dollar Air Force wide modernization effort. I also recently served as the Group Lead for a team of 17 engineers and technicians supporting a variety of Air Force and Department of Defense programs. I have experience across the full life-cycle of work programs from early prototyping through verification and fielding. This breadth of experience enables the ability to strategically work shape and identify impact opportunities across the full spectrum of enterprise challenges, helping to solve our customers’ most challenging problems. My technical experience spans the military communications domain from small prototyping efforts to large scale $1 Billion+ acquisition programs. These efforts require leading multi-disciplinary teams to create solutions that balance across the technical, cost, and schedule trade-space, while leveraging the capabilities of team members skilled in Cyber, Networking, Electrical, Mechanical, and Reliability Engineering disciplines to solve multi-dimensional problems. I enjoy solving difficult technical challenges and pulling together and leading teams to solve those complex problems. Applying my own systems and electrical engineering background while collaborating with a diverse team provides an opportunity to constantly grow, learning new areas while addressing pressing needs.
