Nicholas Morin

I'm a graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in Media Arts focused on news and sports Broadcast. Originally from east Texas, I grew up in a rural area with little technological stimulation. I've always loved working with technology. I excelled at basic computer courses in high school which included editing classes that first introduced me to the Adobe suite. From there I developed a love for movies that lead to my Media Arts degree at UNT. While there, I started to volunteer at North Texas Television, UNT's student run TV station. Eventually, I found my way into the studio where I began getting hands on experience with the technology that helps to keep NTTV running. However, just working with the technology isn't enough. I want to understand how it's made, how it functions. I have previously done extensive work at Mean Green Productions. We film and produce live sporting events for UNT's athletics department as well as behind the scene and promotional videos. In addition, I often worked with North Texas Television to air news and other TV shows, and freelanced with various production companies in the DFW area. I previously worked as a Director and Engineer at The Cowboy Channel in Fort Worth, Texas. We produced professional sports on a national level, and competed with ESPN and CBS for viewers in our market. I was very fortunate to have acquired this job and getting a true entry into the world of live sports broadcast, as I was able to Direct live sporting events as well as keep my Broadcast Engineering skills sharp. Currently, I work for Amazon Prime Video as a BOC Engineer. The work here is extremely fulfilling and meaningful by way of providing a truly unparalleled viewing experience to our customers. It also allows me to dive deep into the mechanisms of global broadcast, and learn skills that I can apply in practical settings.
