Nicholas Polenske, PE

I graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. While attending Portland State, I had the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of downtown Portland transportation first hand while working as a valet attendant at a few different hotels. I am a Transportation Engineer at Kittelson & Associates in Portland, OR. My main focuses at Kittelson are related to public roadway design on projects in the northwest. Prior to Kittelson, I worked at another firm in the Portland area (OBEC Consulting Engineers/DOWL), focusing on public roadway design. With five years of experience, I have been involved in numerous large-scale design projects in the state of Oregon that focus on transportation, drainage, water quality, and bicycle/pedestrian improvements. I have also been involved with APWA, most recently giving a presentation on pedestrian routing during construction at the 2018 Fall APWA conference and I am the current chair of the Young Professionals (YP) committee. I am currently licensed to practice civil engineering in Oregon & Washington.
