Nick van Hagen

Nick currently holds the position of general counsel with NEOS Direct Lending of which he also is partner. Working for several banks Nick acquired a broad experience in the (international) financial services industry; business to business. As legal and general counsel Nick has been responsible for amongst others mergers & acquisitions, (des)investments, structured finance transactions like cross border leasing, syndicated loans and securitizations. Nick started his career at NMB-Heller, the factoring company of the ING Group, from where he moved on to Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten. At Bank Nederlandse Gemeenten Nick primarily supported as senior counsel the International Capital Markets & Treasury Department as well as BNG Capital Management. In this capacity Nick set up and managed Medium Term Note and Commercial Paper Programs and supported the note issues under these programs. Furthermore Nick was responsible for the ISDA negotiations with all counterparties of such transactions and cross border lease transactions. For SNS Property Finance, a subsidiary of bank-insurance group SNS REAAL, Nick was apart from the whole legal field in which the company operated (property financing in several jurisdictions) responsible for the acquiring of banking licenses and the setting up of branch offices in the US, France, Spain and Germany, as well as all dealings with the supervisory authorities of these jurisdictions. As company secretary Nick acted as independent advisor to the Board of Directors and the Management Teams of the business units of the company and was responsible for corporate governance. Nick joined NEOS Direct Lending as general counsel end of July 2012. Nick holds a Master of Laws degree (civil law) from the University of Utrecht and a Master of Management & Organization degree from TIASNIMBAS Business School, University of Tilburg. Nick further attended the one year Management Development course at Nyenrode Business University (2010).
