Nicola Popovic

Nicola has 20 years of professional experience leading policy development, implementation and evaluations on gender, pece and security issues in several geografic regions. She has developed and coordinated national, regional and global projects, research initiatives and training programes on women, peace and security, as well as established monitoring and evaluation tools and systems for the international as well as national stakeholders. She has worked and lived in a variety of countries including Bosnia Hercegovina, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Haiti, Ireland, Italy, Liberia, Palestine, Spain, and Zimbabwe among others. Since 2019, she is the Co-founder and Director of Gender Associations, an international consultancy firm with a network of over 450 experts in the field. With its international team, the company has worked for different national governments (Canada, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) and development agencies, regional organisations (ECOWAS; the OSCE and the OAS), the United Nations and NGOs (PAX, Prospera, Kvinna til Kvinna among others).
