Nicola Spurrier

A/Professor Nicola Spurrier is a dual qualified Medical Specialist, Public Health Physician and Paediatrician, with 29 years’ experience within SA Health including 10 years in the Department for Health and Wellbeing, the past two holding senior roles. She is a strategic and innovative leader, who has specialised in developing and implementing policies and programs across child health, obesity prevention and Aboriginal health. With extensive experience in health protection and promotion, public health partnership and health diplomacy activities; combined with statewide clinical leadership experience and particular expertise in innovative approaches to medical education and workforce development. She is a motivated and driven professional with an enduring commitment to building real relationships and a passion for advocating for and improving the health and wellbeing of the population. She has developed extensive clinical and public health networks and remains connected to across Australia. She has been a member of a number of national committees and aims to improve the health of the population, in particular children and young people.
