Nicole Baldy

I am constantly learning about new and fascinating technologies, particularly robotics and machine learning. I hope to one day leverage these technologies to improve lives and quality of living for as many people as possible. I aspire to learn something new every day, and to take advantage of opportunities to learn and grow as a person and an engineer. As an aspiring software engineer, collaboration is something that I excel at and value greatly. I find that even when I feel like I've hit a dead end, my teammates are great mentors and have helped me find a solution - and I work towards doing the same. I do my best to write elegant code which can be explained and documented with ease and lends itself to new features and scalability. I find myself drawn towards design and documentation of new code features, and spend time nearly every day working in Python or C++ to improve my grasp on the fundamentals. In my personal life, I value volunteerism, and have remained involved with FIRST Robotics throughout my time at the University of Akron, though I hope to increase my level of mentorship after graduation. Music is another strong interest, and I am slowly working my way through exploring Pittsburgh's local music scene. I hope to use these as inspiration for future side projects!
